Planning for Engagement with Disabled Participants

Planning for Engagement with Disabled Participants’

Event date: 9 November 2022

Event time: 2:00pm to 3:00pm

This webinar explored community engagement that is planned with disabled participants in mind first and foremost. We may be used to asking if our engagement participants have access needs – but could we take this further? What potential does ‘disability thinking’ have to improve all of our engagement and move beyond the barriers both disabled people and community engagement practitioners experience?

This webinar covered:

  • The law and good practice on community engagement in health
  • Theoretical approaches to disability
  • What disabled people need to participate, and what this means for non-disabled participants
  • Case examples of inclusive engagement
  • Practical lessons for community engagement
