Public involvement in service change and redesign - workshops

Are you involved in public engagement?

Do you want to find out how to engage effectively with people on service change?

Our workshops can help you.

The purpose of the workshops is to share our learning on three topics and stimulate discussion, the topics are:

  • duties and principles for public involvement in service change, challenges including legal process and how to mitigate risk,
  • how to plan effective service change engagement, and
  • involving people in option appraisal processes.

The workshops will be delivered via MS Teams and each session lasts around 1 hour 30 minutes. They are designed to be interactive where we will explore real life case studies, encourage discussion and attendees can share their experiences. The aim of the workshops is to support engagement practitioners within their roles to involve people and communities in service change and redesign.

We can tailor the workshops to suit each organisation’s needs. If you are interested, please contact the Service Change Team – his.engageservicechange@nhs.scot

As an introduction, we can also offer a one hour ‘taster’ session, which covers the three topics (approximately 15 minutes for each) with time for discussion.

What some people have said about the workshops:

Increased understanding of option appraisal, as well as good practice.

Interesting discussions and great to learn about different principles (of engagement).

It was an excellent session and many of the attendees have since told me how much they enjoyed it. The format was just right and it was great to be able to have time to discuss a variety of issues
